Professional Reflexology Training Program

ABOUT THE PROGRAM: Chantel’s 230-hour Foot Reflexology Certification Program is designed for those who wish to acquire a comprehensive knowledge of reflexology for self-care and care for others. Students who successfully complete the course will also be prepared to take the ARCB (The American Reflexology Certification Board) national exam, which is required for becoming a national board-certified reflexology practitioner. Class will be a mix of live on-line and in-person, with 68 hours live on-line and 62 hours in-person. The in-person classes will be over three 3-4 day weekends. An additional 100 hours will be documented for outside classroom work which includes giving 90 1-hour reflexology sessions and at least 10 hours for student-led assignments (including a student-designed case study, legislative research for their state, and weekly papers on organs and glands). In addition, there will be a post-program study group equaling at least 10 hours to help students prepare for the ARCB test. Total program hours equal 230 hours. |

PROGRAM DETAILS AND HOURS DEFINED: This program is 130 hours, which is the national standard as defined by the National Council for Reflexology Educators (NCRE). In addition, student will spend 90 hours documenting one-hour sessions outside of class, These 90 documentations are defined as giving reflexology to 30 people 3 times each. Each educational hour in class with the instructor is based on a 50-minute period. Breaks, homework, and documentations are not included in the 130 hours.
The breakdown of the 130 hours is as follows: 62 hours will be in person and 68 hours live online. The class is divided into 6 modules that meet 5 times per module. Live on-line classes meet for a 4-hour period once a week, while live in person classes meet over 3-4 day weekends.

This is a 6-month program that meets once a week. Live classes will be grouped so that in=person time together will fall over a 3-4 day weekend (Friday-Sunday or Friday-Monday).
COMPLETION REQUIREMENTS FOR FOOT REFLEXOLOGY CERTIFICATE:
GRADING CRITERIA:
There will be written and practical exercises and assignments, in-class tests on material taught, reflexology technique and application execution, and take-home assignments. In addition to these assignments, active class attendance and meaningful contributions to class discussion, will provide the basis for completing the course.

LEARNING OUTCOMES:
- Students will demonstrate proficiency in reflexology and relaxation techniques.
- Students will be proficient in anatomy and physiology.
- Students will be able to locate reflexology points for all organs, glands, joints, and muscular structures.
- Students will identify pathologies of the human foot and be able to list contraindications for providing reflexology.
- Students will be competent in executing reflexology protocols for specific diseases and conditions.
- Students will perform reflexology using proper technique, body mechanics, and demonstrate seamless flow between reflexology and relaxation techniques.

CLASS TIMEFRAME:

COMPLETION REQUIREMENTS FOR FOOT REFLEXOLOGY CERTIFICATE:
- Students shall have an active role in class preparation and participation.
- Students must attend 80% of live in person or live online classes within the program timeframe. If student must miss a class, student shall communicate this to instructor and schedule a make-up class with payment of $60/hour for additional time given. Makeup classes for live in person sessions must be completed within two (2) months of the last day of class. If this is a private course, student shall provide 48-hour notice so that class can be rescheduled at no additional charge.
- Students will take tests throughout the course. 75% or above to successfully pass exams. If less than 75% is achieved, student will retake exam to prove comprehension of lessons taught.
- Students will submit homework, including documentations via Google Docs to be submitted weekly.
- 90 one-hour documented sessions shall be given outside of class time. Students will provide one-hour reflexology sessions to 30 clients 3 times each, totaling 90 hours.
