The AtHome Experience on Wheels!
About the Project:
This multi-purpose and sustainable vehicle brings The AtHome Experience to clients in the comfort or their own home and in public space. Providing sessions and teaching classes in reflexology and reiki for all.
Why a Cargo Trike?
Much like the modern day food truck, the cargo trike is gaining momentum as a great energy efficient vehicle to sell products. My feeling is why not healing? Renting an office and covering the expenses associated with a small business make it so healing sessions can get very pricey and are often times only available to the select few who can afford them. By bringing healing into public space we can make it an affordable practice that everyone can access to maintain good health, keep illness and dis-ease at bay and help in the reduction of stress.
The cargo trike also provides the perfect opportunity to see clients and reduce our carbon footprint.
Long gone are the days of toting around a massage table!
The Greater Vision:
Inspired by the "mother of reflexology", Eunice Ingham, who traveled across the country to teach people how to do reflexology, I decided to create an environmentally sustainable cargo trike to bring my healing to my local community. The My hope is that not only will it be received well here in Sonoma County but that other healers will consider this model and together we can expand our reach and provide affordable healing to everyone. AtHome currently provides reflexology to New York, Brooklyn, New Jersey, Santa Rosa, Windsor, San Francisco and the East Bay. Whereever there are people who wish to receive and learn more about bringing this healing art into their lives I will walk, trike, bus, drive, or plane anywhere! :)
The AtHome Experience Campaign:
In October of 2015 we ran a successful campaign raising $6,570, raising more than our initial $5,500 goal. These funds helped pay for our cargo trike and cedar box, a commercial canopy tent, accessories for the trike, 2 reflexology zero-gravity reclining chairs, and all art & design for logo and hand-painted signage.
