CHANTEL C. LUCIER, NBCR, RMT, CMT, CREd
FOUNDER: The At Home Experience
Author, Certified Reflexologist, Reiki Master Teacher, & Certified Massage Therapist
Chantel C. Lucier was born in San Francisco to a family of Mexican, Norwegian, and Italian performers and musicians. In time, Chantel followed the family tradition and became a dancer, singer, and actor. In 2001 she moved to New York City as a performing artist and soon discovered reflexology, reiki and their myriad benefits.
Chantel traces her vision back to her grandmother, MaKaye's home. "Everyone in the neighborhood was always welcome. We didn't have a lot of money, but no one ever went hungry... in fact we ate really well. And there was always an abundance of creative energy in the house. The smell of grandma's chiles rellenos and the sound of music into the night." While Chantel’s early life had been rich with food, family, music and art, one element had been missing – an attention to health. All those long nights had meant late mornings and the accompanying imbalance in wellbeing. By adding reflexology, reiki, and other healing practices to her life, Chantel discovered that caring for the physical needs of yourself and others is also a vitally important art and that the connection it fosters is essential for healing to flow on all levels. The AtHome Experience aims to recreate that energy, bring different people together and give its participants the tools to take care of themselves, each other, and their communities. And like MaKaye’s dinner table so long ago, everyone is welcome At Home.
Chantel is a national board certified reflexologist, reiki master practitioner and teacher, and certified massage therapist. She has been giving sessions and teaching workshops in reflexology since 2007. Her ongoing goal is to teach people how to care for themselves and others using reflexology. She has been featured in various articles, videos and blogs on self-healing and DIY techniques in reflexology including Gwenyth Paltrow's GOOP, Jill Urban's Wellness Report on NY1, Organic Spa Magazine, Well & Good, The Doctor Steve Show, and Howcast's 50+ DIY videos.
Chantel received her education from San Francisco School of Massage, Calistoga Massage Therapy School, and the Open Center in New York City. She is a reiki master who trained with Reiki Arts Continuum, Brooklyn Classical Reiki Center, & The International Center for Reiki. Chantel has acquired continuing education of 70 classroom hours in the science-based Manzanares Method™ of Reflexology (MMR) developed by Dr. Jesus Manzanares, M.D and training in the MMR Press and Slide Technique™, research principles, protocols and MMR Foot Reflexology Mapping, including 16 hours of training in specialty protocols for chronic pain syndromes developed and taught by Dr. Manzanares. She has also studied with Dr. Martine Faure-Alderson, the creator of Cranio-Sacral Therapy in Reflexology, Peter Lund Frandsen & Dorthe Krogsgaard of Touchpoint in Reflexology & the Immune System, and Wendy Coad for Hand Reflexology Techniques.
